Viola is finally being given the chance to walk, free from pain

Did you know? If you give €250 or more to CBM in a calendar year, your donation could be worth 45% more.
Viola (11) from Uganda, tries her best to help her grandmother out with the chores. Despite her clubfoot and the pain it causes, Viola makes the muddy trek to gather water every day. Other children carry two buckets of water home from the well– one in each hand. Viola, however, can only manage a single bucket atop her head; struggling but never complaining.
Viola was born with bilateral clubfoot, a painful but easily treated condition that causes the feet to twist inwards. When she was just a few months old, her family managed to correct her left foot, though the right foot has plagued her to this day.

Grandmother Joyce worries for Viola in a way she doesn’t worry for her other grandchildren. Finding help for Viola is always on her mind, but there is never enough money to travel to the big city to find it.
Word travels fast in rural communities - Joyce and Viola’s aunt heard news of a boy who had been cured of his disability. Their interest peaked, they began to investigate; hoping against hope that Viola could avail of the same help.
Days later, fate stepped in: CBM’s Outreach Clinic, funded by CBM supporters like you, came to Viola’s village.
CBM Outreach Clinics bring life-changing medical care to thousands of people every year. And we’re happy to report that Viola was assessed and referred to the CBM-funded CorSU hospital in Kampala for surgery.
Viola’s life is about to change – she’s about to be freed from pain – but there are thousands more who will never get this opportunity. That is, unless someone like you steps in. Your support can help reach those that are left behind.
