CBM Ireland in the Coalition 2030 for successful implementation of Sustainable Development Goals
The Coalition 2030 in Ireland is formed by 60 civil society organizations representing a variety of sectors from youth organisations, environmental groups, academics, trade unions and international Non-Profit Organizations, and includes CBM Ireland.
The Coalition’s main objective is to collaborate for the effective implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals and to monitor the Irish government’s compliance with its responsibilities as a signatory to the plan.
Some of the activities the Coalition carries out are related to advocacy for the full implementation of the National Action Plan, National SDG Stakeholder Forum, and increased financing for development.
2019’s International Day of Persons with Disabilities theme was: ‘Promoting the participation of persons with disabilities and their leadership: taking action on the 2030 Development Agenda’. International Day of People with Disabilities takes place annually on December 3rd.
In line with this, CBM Ireland prioritizes the empowerment of persons with disabilities for inclusive, equitable and sustainable development opportunities. Consequently, CBM Ireland actively participates on the Coalition 2030, bringing its expertise and perspective on disability inclusion to the discussions.
By working in collaboration with other stakeholders and organizations, CBM priority is to ensure persons with disabilities are fully represented and not left behind on the conversations about the 2030 Agenda.
